The current line-up (at August 2009):-Barbara Keith - Vocals and lead guitar
John Tibbles - Bass guitar
Doug Tibbles - Drums
As I understand it, Barbara Keith writes the songs. She started out way way back in Greenwich Village, doing mainly folksy stuff. For example she wrote "The bramble and the rose" and "Detroit or Buffalo" back in those days ("Detroit or Buffalo" included below, as performed by the band now). But she tore up her major label contract, gave them back their advance-monies, and went off into the backwoods (relatively speaking) to write, play and record, straight ahead self-penned rock with a strong lyrics ethic, with hubbie Doug Tibbles learning the drums (he gave up writing scripts for major US TV comedy shows and the like) and Doug's son John playing bass guitar. As a family band, they do all their own music business and promotion, producing an album of songs most years, and playing live to generally smallish independent venues throughout the USA. They are fantastic (my own humble opinion, of course).
A few YouTube videos follow below, to give a small sample of their kind of music. Barbara not only does the vocals, but also the superb rock-electric guitar. Doug is solid on the drums, and John provides big fat beautiful melodic rock bass guitar.
I need to see them "live" so I'm hoping they will tour the UK one day, and particularly Scotland, but maybe I shouldn't hold my breath.
